"Hello, my name is Saffal Berry and I was born on November 3, 1981. My family has been in the business scene for quite sometime now, ever since the partition, when my granddad started his own business of electronics and iron goods. After sometime my father began to help him - they worked together for about 10 to 15 years. Then he started his own little venture in handicrafts along with my mom. My parents have been my greatest source of inspiration. When I was barely 18, just after I finished my schooling, my dad brought me in to work alongside him. This was a big boost for me; I feel very proud to have been included.
"I don't know why, but somehow I have always been inclined towards this profession of handicrafts - I've never wanted to do anything else. On that note, I surely want to mention that India has got such a diverse cultural heritage and there are so many things to explore. Maybe this is what really encourages me.
"Today, I am working with a group of artisans from northern India as well as from other parts of India. We work with all kinds of products as long as they are hand-crafted. It has been a great experience working with my team - everyday has been a learning experience. I credit my parents for all that I have learned, I would not have come this far without their unending encouragement and support.
"I feel good to be a part of Novica. This is a first of its kind experience for me. And I trust this is going to be a good experience."
